The objec,ng sibling would have to opportunity to object to or fight the request at the ini,al
filing. That is the same process as is done with third-party visita,on in Ohio currently.
2.
Current is 30 days (too short) before a move in Ohio. Jurisdic,on is the county in which the
filing is made. The same would also be applied to the court, as far if it is Juvenile for the never-
married or Domes,c Rela,ons for those that are divorced. The media,on clause is to reduce
li,ga,on and first a6empt to nego,ate a se6lement. Cer,fica,on to the juvenile court only
applies when allega,ons of abuse are raised in court. 60 days applies to all cases under this
sec,on.
BTW - A change of venue refers to when a case is moved to a different county due to a tainted jury
pool. Family law cases are all bench trials.

questions
regarding
the
sibling
rights
bill
draft
.
Let
me
know
how
to
best
address
these
!
1.
Section
(5)(
a
)
states
that
a
sibling
visitation
schedule
must
be
developed
that
“assures
that
the
siblings
enjoy
their
fundamental
right
to
enjoy
time
with
any
other
siblings
shown
to
be
involved
.
”
This
appears
to
apply
to
all
minor
siblings
,
rather
than
the
sibling
who
filed
for
companionship
and
visitation
rights
.
What
if
the
other
sibling
(
s
)
do
not
want
to
be
involved
?

Section
(7)
of
the
provided
language
reads
as
follows
:
“Modification
proceedings
relating
to
visitation
between
siblings
,
or
removal
of
children
from
the
jurisdiction
of
the
court
shall
be
commenced
by
filing
a
complaint
to
modify

.
Proceedings
to
modify
a
sibling
visitation
plan
shall
be
commenced
by
filing
a
complaint
to
modify
.
Such
actions
shall
be
referred
to
mediation
or
specialized

both
parties
agree
and
such
visitation
agreement
